Jessica Riggs, MD, specializes in sleep medicine, and is also board-certified in pulmonary and critical care, and internal medicine.

Dr. Riggs manages all sleep disorders including insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and vasomotor symptoms through Virginia Heart Cardiovascular practice and INOVA. She has a special interest in women’s hormonal health, and sleep health as it pertains to mental wellness, burnout prevention, and professional performance. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and has given several lectures on Women’s Sleep Health.

Dr. Riggs earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College and pursued her residency in Internal Medicine at Rutgers University Hospital in New Jersey. She completed fellowships in pulmonology, critical care, and sleep medicine at New York University.
Prior to returning to the Northern Virginia area, Dr. Riggs worked front-line in Brooklyn and Manhattan ICUs as a critical care attending physician during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Riggs is an avid soccer enthusiast, mid distance runner, and toddler mom.
